New Hyperlinks do not work in PDF. After a recent Word 2016 for MAC update, my new hyperlinks are not carrying through into PDF. The old links work as well as always; the new links are underlined, blue, but do not go anywhere. Nov 24, 2017 - Outlook on Mac Hyperlinks do not open on Chrome. I'm trying to create HTML signatures for my job and we all use Macs, therefore Outlook 2011 for Mac. We've only been successful in creating the signature using a Windows computer running Outlook.
I've read numerous articles, forums, etc. And have had zero luck finding anyone who has successfully created an HTML signature and used it with Outlook for Mac 2011.
I cannot get the images to show up when I email from my Exchange (work email) account to a Gmail, hotmail, or other account. It simply shows some HTML tags with the links to the images and links to the hyperlinks, but is all plain text and not HTML at all. My encoding is set to UTF-8 in the Composing tab under the Outlook Preferences. Things I've tried:. Creating an HTML file in Dreamweaver, opening in a browser (Firefox, Safari, Chrome), then selecting all (CTRL+A), then copying all (CTRL+C), and then going to Outlook signatures and pasting (CTRL+V) into the signature box, assigning the signature to the appropriate account. I then sent a test email from my Exchange (work email account) to several other emails (gmail, hotmail, etc.) and each time, the html signature does not come through as HTML - but as plain text with links to the images and hyperlinks. Creating the signature in Outlook's signature box itself.
I dragged/dropped an image from Finder to the Signature box, added text, and hyperlinks (but am unable to hyperlink icons/images I dragged over.the image just disappears and the actual hyperlink text shows instead). I've then assigned the signature and tested by sending. Again, no images show when receiving the email to a gmail or hotmail account, etc.
Tried using the same signature file (the HTML file I created in Dreamweaver) and doing the copy/past method (#1 above) using a Windows Machine + Outlook, it worked fine. Tried remote logging into the Windows Machine and copying/pasting that code which worked in #3, and pasting to the Outlook Signature box on the Mac machine. It did not copy the images, only the text.

Failed again. Any and all help is much appreciated.
I'm about to go crazy because I have yet to find a way which allows for nicely formatted HTML signatures to be sent from MS Outlook (using Exchange) to a gmail, hotmail, etc.
When clicking on a mailto link, Outlook used to get opened and I could write my email. Now, when I click on a mailto link, it brings up the Gmail webpage while I don’t even have a Gmail account. I’ve already made sure that Outlook has been set as my default mail client in Windows, but mailto links still bring me to Gmail. How can I get mailto links to open with Outlook again? It sounds like you are not using Internet Explorer as your default browser then or may not have set the mailto protocol in Windows to use Outlook.
This is a different settings than having Outlook set as your default mail client in Windows. Firefox and really old versions of Opera both have an option to override the system default mail client (in your case: Outlook) and link it to a web mail service or another mail application instead. Chrome, the latest version of Opera and (of course) Internet Explorer respect the default mail client settings which you have configured in Windows. Firefox To set Firefox to respect your default mail client settings in Windows again when clicking on a mailto link choose; Open the Menu by clicking on the “hamburger” icon (3 lines above each other) in the top right corner- Options- tab Applications- click on the “mailto” drop down list and select: Use Microsoft Outlook. Note: An alternative way to get to the Options dialog is to press ALT+T to open the old Tools menu and then choose Options. Yet another way (as of Firefox version 38) is to type the following in the Address Bar: about:preferences#applications Configuring the MailTo protocol in Firefox.
Opera As mentioned, really old versions (up to version 12) of Opera had the default for mailto links set to its own Opera Mail client but you could change it back to Outlook in the following way; Opera menu- Settings- Preferences (CTRL+F12)- tab Advanced- section Programs- select: mailto- button Edit- select: Open with default application. However, it is really recommended to update to the latest version of Opera instead since these old versions are no longer supported. The latest version of Opera uses the default mailto application that you have set in Windows. Changing the default mailto application handler to Outlook Even when you have Outlook set as your default mail client in Windows, it may not have been set as the default handler for the mailto protocol itself. You can change this in one of the following ways: Method 1: Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Vista Control Panel- Programs- Default Programs- Set your default programs- select Outlook (desktop)- Either use “Set this program as default” to assign Outlook all the defaults it can have or use “Choose defaults for this program” to manually select the MAILTO protocol.
Method 2: Windows 8, Windows 7 and Windows Vista Control Panel- Programs- Default Programs- Associate a file type or protocol with a program- scroll down to the protocol list- select MAILTO- click the Change program button in the top right corner to set it to Outlook. Windows XP Control Panel (Classis View)- Internet Options- tab: Programs- dropdown list: E-mail- select Microsoft Outlook from the list. Control Panel (Category View)- Network and Internet Connections- Internet Options- tab: Programs- dropdown list: E-mail- select Microsoft Outlook from the list.
